The self titled debut album from Royal Blood, a British duo who have burst onto the scene with a heavy-hitting rock album that displays exactly what two guys with a drum kit, bass guitar and a voice can do.

Walking Under Stars - Hilltop Hoods
Picking up exactly where the Hilltop Hoods left off with ‘Drinking from the Sun’, comes their seventh studio album, ‘Walking Under Stars’. From the very first voiceover of the album, the listener sees what Pressure, Suffa, and DJ Debris had been planning since before they started recording ‘Drinking from the Sun’.
Announcement About Review Format
After multiple track-by-track album reviews, I will no longer be writing said reviews. Instead my focus will be entirely on an overall album review, as this gives a better outlook on the album itself rather than the individual tracks.
Another plus of doing overall reviews is the fact that they look a lot cleaner, and more professional. As we all learnt in English class, the best structure for a paragraph is an intro sentence, 3-4 body sentences and a linking sentence. Unfortunately, track-by-track reviews don't allow this traditional paragraph structure and therefore look unprofessional.
I will be keeping the track-by-track reviews that I have already written on my site, and with time will endeavour to convert them into overall reviews. Until then, enjoy the reviews to come and keep an eye out for the special reviews about anything music related.

Arrows (feat. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis) - Fences
The first single off of the sophomore album ‘Lesser Oceans’, from Seattle native, ‘Fences’ a.k.a. Christopher Mansfield. The track also features Grammy-award winning duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, with Macklemore lending his rap talent to this astoundingly great song.

Ben Howard at the Palais Theatre - July 30th 2014
Palais Theatre, Lower Esplanade, St Kilda
On a balmy Melbourne winters night, people flocked to the beautiful Palais Theatre in St Kilda, in anticipation of the wondrous Ben Howard. Proceedings began when Nick Mulvey trudged onto the stage with a guitar in hand. Nick then spent the next 45 minutes treating the crowd to some fantastic acoustic guitar and even more fantastic singing. Nick closed with his most known song “Cucurucu”.

Mainline - One Day
Mainline is the introduction to Australian hip-hop collective ‘One Day’. Made up of Solo and Adit from Horrorshow, Nick Lupi and Jimmy Nice from Spit Syndicate, Kai and Raph from Jackie Onassis, and MC Joyride, One Day is one of the only Hip-Hop supergroups in Australia, that’s if you count groups like Gully Platoon as supergroups. If you don’t, then One Day are trendsetters in the hip hop world, a group that announces itself as a group rather than having a single act featuring others. In saying that, not every artist involved in One Day is present on each track of the album, they chop and change quite frequently, all coming together for the title track ‘Mainline’ and opener ‘Many Hands’.

Startup Cult - Allday
The debut album from Adelaide-based rapper Allday (Tom Gaynor), and the second record released on Illy and Unified’s label ONETWO. ‘Startup Cult’ adds something to the Australian hip-hop scene that has taken it that one step further. What could be described as hipster rap or in Allday’s words “Soft Grunge Love Rap”, Startup Cult provides the listener with a scope into the future of Aussie hip-hop, with an artist that adds a kind of new identity to the genre. Think Kriss Kross’ backwards clothing, Alldays choice of clothing is somewhat obscure, but it works, and matches the beats and smooth lyrics he creates. Often his Facebook and Instagram pages will be photos of a guy with long hair and a bucket hat, and most likely clothes that look more than one size too big. It’s awkward, but god-damn it’s ballin’.

Wish I Was Here (Music From the Motion Picture)
First off, let me say that all Soundtrack Reviews will be compared to ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’ OST, as I feel that, as far as soundtracks go, it was perfect.
